On Friday, August 30, the night began with a speech by Jury Chairman Nick Torrens entitled “A Thirty-Year Journey to Hong Kong and China through Documentary”. The first two documentaries on the fifth day of the festival were Malena Martinez Cabrera’s “Hugo Blanco, Deep River” (Austria, Peru, 108΄) and Eliza Soroga and Aigle’s “Roots” (Greece, 28΄).. Malena Martinez Cabrera and Eliza Soroga, present at the festival, had a Q/A session with the public after the screenings of their films. Subsequently, Nathalie Blomme’s “Heart of Stone” and “Seybouda” (France, 14΄), as well as “A Simple Life” (Greece, Germany, USA) by Myrtos Papageorgiou and Robert Harding Pittman. were featured in the Film Tribute“Minorities, Roma, Intercultural Education”.
