Y1-Silence of the Deep

14.09.1943:The legendary Submarine “Y1-L. Katsonis” is sunk north of the island of Skiathos by the German anti-submarine boat UJ 2101.The narration is based on the book of first mate Elias Tsoukalas who escaped capture swimming for nine hours to the coast. Secret documents and crew members’ diaries are the means by which human stories woven with the submarine unfold.75 years later,with the support of the Hellenic Navy,we search for the submarine,sunk at a depth of 253m,filming the wreck for the very first time.
