The Three Fatalities of Teofilo Del Valle

by Manuel De Juan Navarro, Spain, 48', Greek Premiere

Teófilo del Valle’s life crossed paths with the workers’ demonstration in Elda on 24 February 1976. An armed policeman killed the young worker Teófilo del Valle. It was the first death caused by armed police since Juan Carlos I became head of state. The presiding judge tried to bring the perpetrator to justice, despite enormous pressure to suppress incriminating evidence against the accused. The tragic events of that night and the details of the subsequent trial have remained hidden for decades. This documentary sheds light on an important part of our history and highlights a time when many fought to ensure we enjoy the rights we have today.
