This is a documentary about fake news. Genka is a Bulgarian investigative journalist with twenty years’ experience. Her car has been set on fire twice and she has received repeated death threats. Ivan, an engineer, is involved in creating and disseminating anti-European, conservative fake news and conspiracy theories. 2024 is a year of back-to-back elections. Genka and Ivan are on opposing sides, each pursuing their own agenda.

Tonislav Hristov was born in Vratsa, Bulgaria, in 1978. In 2003, he moved to Finland to study film. He is renowned for his heart-warming, character-driven documentaries. His film “Love & Engineering” (2014) was screened at the Tribeca, Hot Docs and Visions du Réel festivals, and his film “Soul Food Stories” (2013) was selected for the IDFA festival. His film “The Good Postman” (IDFA 2016, Sundance 2017) received a nomination for the European Film Awards. His most recent film “The Magic Life of V” premiered at the Sundance and Berlinale festivals in 2019.
