The search for a lost film by Spanish scientific cinema pioneer Guillermo Fernández-Zúñiga becomes a journey through family memories and national archives. Here, the gradual unfolding of the film reveals layers of images and silence.

Candela Sotos (born Madrid, 1986) obtained a Master’s degree in Photography and Contemporary Art from Paris 8 University, after which she joined the Artists’ Programme at Torcuato di Tella University in Buenos Aires. Her work explores official historical discourse and memory through various media, including botanical practice, archives, and moving images. Her work has been presented at exhibitions and festivals including CRA Matadero Madrid, Cineteca, Círculo de Bellas Artes, Centro Cultural de la Memoria Haroldo Conti (Buenos Aires), Fundación Cerezales FCAYC, Centro Pompidou Málaga and Fundación Sandretto Re Rebaudengo. She has also participated in projects such as the First Latin American School on the Urban Anthropocene (ENSLyon/UNSAM-IDAES). “Yrupẽ” (2025), her first feature film, was presented at a variety of festivals, including the Visions du Réel (Nyon), SEMINCI (Valladolid), and Cinespaña (Toulouse).
