Averno

by Filippo Maria Pontiggia, 2025, Italy, 23’ International Premiere

Pozzuoli lies at the centre of the Phlegraean Fields crater, where the earth rises and falls continuously in a breath-like cycle. This is a place where the boundary between the world of the living and the underworld has opened many times. The earth, with its vapours and fumes, holds ancient mysteries and latent energy, ready to awaken.
