Between a rock and a hard place

A small group of Afghan children attending an improvised refugee school in Athens is ready to take a stand against the Taliban, who are tightening their grip on power in Afghanistan. Will their voices be loud enough to draw global attention, or will their families and friends continue to face the dangers of this oppressive regime?

Director: Thanos Liberopoulos

Thanos Liberopoulos is a filmmaker and director with a background in music, having released several albums with various bands. He later turned to visual storytelling, directing and shooting numerous music videos for a wide range of artists, while also working as a director of photography for commercials and web series. In cinema, he has collaborated as a DOP on feature films, short films, and documentaries with acclaimed directors. His short documentary Dunaym, about a Kurdish political refugee, was screened at festivals across Greece, while his short fiction film Beauty premiered at the Drama International Short Film Festival in 2021 and went on to screen at many other festivals.
