This Is How We Came from Karşı (the shore across)

Exchangeable property, feuds and skirmishes, the urban housing of refugees, their socialisation, gatherings in small courtyards, their need to find jobs but also their assimilation by the existing communities are the issues that concern us in this episode.

History professors, architects – engineers, archive and museum directors, and also still living refugees shed light on the urban rehabilitation of the Greeks who… “came fromkarşı” (the shore across).

Director: Τaina Grigoriadou

Taina Grigoriadou was born and raised in Thessaloniki. With a background in set and costume design, she discovered her passion for directing and has worked in television for over 30 years (Ant1, Alpha, Mega, ERT). For the past 19 years, she has been directing at the Hellenic Parliament TV channel, focusing for the last 9 on historical and extra-parliamentary programming, with over 60 episodes produced.
