Ms. President
by Marek Šulík, 2024, Slovakia, Czech Republic, 108’
For five years, she was the most trusted president of crisis-stricken Slovakia, navigating the murky waters of politics with dignity and integrity. Over that period, a film crew followed her closely, gaining access even to situations where no other cameras were allowed. The film captures her political decisions and encounters with world leaders on pressing global issues, as well as her meetings with ordinary citizens facing everyday challenges.
An extraordinarily intimate portrait, Ms. President follows a woman who sought to bring a more humane and open approach to the traditionally competitive, male-dominated world of high politics, while simultaneously confronting the greatest personal challenge of her life.
