In the center of Rome, nestled between the Aurelian Walls and the Pyramid of Caius Cestius is a fragment of eternity: the Non-Catholic Cemetery in Testaccio, also known as the poets’ cemetery.

A place of memory, poetry and nature. A ‘Mediterranean oasis where thousands of lucky souls of all kinds and races rest. Travelers, princesses, artists and poets including Shelley, Keats, Gregory Corso, Antonio Gramsci, Joyce Lussu.

Giuseppe Cederna tells it with the lightness and familiarity of one who knows that the boundary between us and “them” is as thin and intangible as a butterfly’s wing.

Giuseppe Cederna,, actor, writer, traveler. Among the stars of Gabriele Salvatores, 1992 Oscar-winning film Mediterraneo, he has worked with Ettore Scola, Marco Bellocchio, Luigi Comencini, Mario Monicelli, fratelli Taviani, Silvio Soldini, Rob Marshall, Gianni Amelio. In theater, he has traveled from Amadeus to Stevenson, from Moliére to Chekhov with Uncle Vanya" in 2023, to Daniel Pennac to Homer Odyssey and Gianmaria Testa Mediterranean migrations. He narrates his journeys, his poetic and literary passions from Kostantino Kavafis to John Berger, from Wislawa Szimborska to Chandra Candiani. He published with Feltrinelli “Il Grande Viaggio” a Himalayan pilgrimage to the sources of the Ganges and “Piano Americano”, “Ticino, le voci del Fiume” ed. Excelsior 1881.
