Queen of the Deuce

by Valerie Kontakos, 2022, Greece, Canada, 78'

Born Rachel Serrero, Chelly Wilson was an educated Jewish woman and Greece’s first female driver. World War II found her on a boat to the US, leaving her children behind. Having escaped the Holocaust, she started a new family and erased her past. Following the Stonewall Riots, she switched from screening Greek films to pornography, becoming the largest adult theatre owner in New York City.
