Mal Marken is a highly experienced and talented broadcasting professional with deep knowledge of both editorial and directorial work. Starting his career as a transmitter and field engineer, he joined the BBC in 1985 and rose to Senior Programme Editor, working on programmes like Spotlight, Ulster in Focus, and Farming Ulster. He later served as Senior Editor at Ulster Television, producing notable documentaries such as Joey, One Night in Valencia, and Xmas in Omagh. After returning to the BBC and winning two RTS awards, Mal co-founded Imagine Media in 2000, directing acclaimed works including Shirt Factory Horn, Mackie – Built to Last, and Major Champions, which featured an exclusive interview with golf stars Clarke, McDowell, and McIlroy.
