Crossing
by Karol Felicio, Brazil, 2024, 15' International Premiere
Crossing is a documentary that plunges into the heart of the Rio Piraquê-Açu village, revealing the dilemma of young indigenous mothers who, despite being welcomed by their midwife grandmother Keretxchu, choose to give birth in hospitals. Between tradition and modernity, the film questions the future of ancestral knowledge: could it disappear? With sensitivity, Crossing reflects on identity, motherhood and the challenges of this transition between past and future. Travessia (crossing) is the way.
