Εxhibition by sculptor Alexandros Zygouris

In the framework of the 3rd International Documentary Festival in Castellorizo island “Beyond Borders”, Alexandros Zygouris’ sculpture exhibiton under the title:
“Megisti: Light, Word and Stone”will be hosted.
Alexandros Zygouris is a well-known sculptor from Epirus who has been living in Castellorizo for the last 40 years. For Alexandros, sculpture is ‘the art of subtraction until the real substance is revealed’. His way of living is closely attached to the art he serves. Plain, thrifty, always barefoot, he walks on the rocky island from side to side chiseling the landscape, giving content to the relentless battle of man to tame and give shape and substance to the stone.
