Call for projects – Co-Production Development Forum 2026

Beyond Borders Kastellorizo International Documentary Festival is proud to announce the open call for its inaugural Co-Production Development Forum. This pilot initiative will take place during the 11th edition of the festival from August 23–30, 2026, on the historic island of Kastellorizo.

The Forum is designed to empower Greek filmmakers by providing the tools and networks necessary to succeed in the global marketplace. Under the expert guidance of Rudy Buttignol C.M., participants will engage with international commissioning editors and executive producers from prestigious organizations such as ARTE, Al Jazeera, YLE Finland and HBO.

The Program

Running from August 24 to August 27, the four-day intensive program includes:

One-to-one meetings with decision-makers.
Small-group project workshopping and masterclasses.
A “mock” pitch session to simulate international forum environments.
Networking opportunities and professional social interactions.

Eligibility & Submissions

For its inaugural year, the Forum is dedicated to Greek productions or co-productions. We welcome all documentary genres; however, storylines and themes with a strong international perspective are highly encouraged.

Submission Requirements (Documents must be in English):

Short proposal (max 3 pages) including: Concept/Story/Outline, Production & Financing plan and short Biographies of the team.
Link to previous documentary work.

Key Dates:

Deadline for Submissions: June 15, 2026
Announcement of Selected Projects: June 30, 2026

Participation Details

The festival will select 6-8 projects. The Festival provides accommodation on the island; participants are responsible for their own travel expenses. A participation fee of 75 Euros is required upon selection to secure the spot.
